MLB Odds: Aces Ready for World Series Game 2

There’s so much pitching talent on the New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals. It’s hard to tell who the aces are sometimes. But for all intents and purposes, both teams will be at the top of their rotations when they meet Wednesday night (8:07 PM ET, FOX) in Game 2 of the 2015 World Series.

The Royals (95-67, +19.44 betting units) have home-field advantage after winning more games during the regular season. However, the Mets (90-72, +5.89 units) have the pitching advantage on Wednesday; they’ll start Jacob deGrom, a possible Cy Young candidate in the National League. DeGrom posted a 2.70 FIP and earned 6.01 units on a team record of 20-10, then swept all three of his playoff starts.
Kansas City will be represented by Johnny Cueto (3.53 FIP), who hasn’t quite lived up to the hype since coming over from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline. Cueto dropped 9.34 units in his 13 starts (4-9) with the Royals – although they did win two of his three postseason games. The hefty northpaw had the benefit of usually low BABIP numbers at the tail end of his Reds career, making Cueto an overvalued commodity this season.
