Are Chiefs in Trouble Against Texans? The Kansas City Chiefs (4-1 SU, 3-2 ATS) have suffered their first loss of the 2019 campaign – and everyone is panicking about their short-term future. But the Chiefs remain home favorites (–4.5) at press time for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans (3-2 SU and ATS), after opening at –6.5. Kick-off is at 1 PM ET on CBS.

Reigning league MVP Patrick Mahomes had one of the worst performances of his young career during last Sunday’s 19-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts (+11 away), although it was hardly a disaster; Mahomes made 22 of 39 pass attempts for 321 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. But Mahomes also “tweaked” his ankle and will receive treatment before facing Houston. WR Tyreek Hill hopes to recover from his broken clavicle in time to play. The Texans are coming off an impressive 53-32 win over the Atlanta Falcons (+4 away), a strong showing for an offense that struggled through September. Houston kept QB Deshaun Watson sack-free for the first time all year; Watson responded with five TD strikes, zero picks, and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Senio Kelemete (wrist) is one of several linemen still on the shelf for the Texans.
