Battle Between Hot Western Conference Clubs on Tuesday The St. Louis Blues have picked up where they left off last season and are pacing the Western Conference with Edmonton. Despite missing one of their most dangerous scorers in Vladimir Tarasenko (shoulder), the Blues have continued to pile up the wins, with 21 points through 15 games. They’ve done it with a balanced offensive attack (six players have 10 or more points on the season) led by last year’s Conn Smythe winner Ryan O’Reilly (4 goals, 12 assists). The Blues will face arguably the hottest team in the NHL on Tuesday, as the Vancouver Canucks host the defending Cup Champions at Rogers Arena.

After struggling to a 35-36-11 record last season, the Canucks have stormed out of the gate this season. They’re 7-1-2 in their last 10 games and sit just one point back of the Edmonton Oilers for first in the Pacific Division at press. The emergence last year’s Rookie of the Year, Elias Pettersson (6 goals, 14 assists) has been a big part of that success. The 20-year-old is already dominating at the center ice position and seems to be getting better every game. This matchup is a battle between Western Conference heavyweights, so be sure to catch all of the excitement and see who comes away victorious. The puck drops at 10 PM ET.
