Bruins Host Sabres in Atlantic Division Battle The Buffalo Sabres’ struggles continued on Tuesday when they dropped a 4-1 decision to one of the worst teams in the NHL, the Minnesota Wild. After coming out of the gate with an 8-2-1 record, they’ve dropped eight of their last 10 games, and are reeling. They’ve allowed four goals in each of their last two games, and things won’t get any easier in the near future. The Sabres face a significant challenge on Thursday when they take on the Boston Bruins, who occupy top spot in the Atlantic Division.

Boston owns the best goal differential in the NHL at +21 and they’re coming off of a 5-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils. Brad Marchand (13 goals, 21 assists) and David Pastrnak (19 goals, 15 assists) pace the Bruins’ fourth-ranked offense (3.57 goals per game), and they’ll have a great opportunity to add to those numbers against the Sabres. While Buffalo still ranks in the top half of the NHL in team defense (2.95 goals against per game), their growing list of injuries is making it difficult for head coach Ralph Krueger to ice a defensively-sound squad. A visit to TD Garden will be no easy task, but you can be sure they’ll be eager to upset the division-leading B’s. Game time is set for 7 PM ET.
