The Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays will wrap up their three-game series when the two clubs go toe-to-toe this Thursday. Boston opened up the series with a 10-6 victory over Trent Thornton on Tuesday. Both Thornton and the Jays didn’t look as ready as the Red Sox when the game opened. Boston scored seven runs in the first three innings, and Thornton wasn’t able to get out of the third. However, the Jays will have an opportunity to finish the series on a high note with Marcus Stroman, their All-Star selection, taking the mound.

Through all of the trade rumors that have surrounded Stroman this year, he’s put up a masterful season. Stro’ is pitching to a lethal 3.18 ERA over 18 starts and ranks fifth in the league in groundball ratios. When he was announced as the starter for Thursday’s game after leaving his previous outing with a pectoral cramp, fans breathed a sigh of relief.

Stroman will be up against newly anointed starter, Hector Velazquez, who is making his first start of the year after injuries to Brian Johnson and Nathan Eovaldi. Velazquez is typically the Sox’ long reliever, so it’ll be interesting to see how his workload is managed against the Jays. First pitch is scheduled for 7:07 PM ET, so don’t miss the action.
