For most of the 2010s, the New York Yankees have played second fiddle to the Boston Red Sox in the American League East – until now. The 52-28 Yankees are nine games ahead of the third-place Red Sox at 44-38 heading into this weekend’s two-game series across the pond at London Stadium; Game 2 is Sunday at 10 AM ET on ESPN.

The Yankees haven’t officially named a starter for Sunday, with manager Aaron Boone indicating the team will use a combination of relievers instead. Boston expects to have Eduardo Rodriguez (4.87 ERA) on the mound. Thanks to 7.44 runs of support per game, the Red Sox are 12-4 behind Rodriguez this year, with the OVER at 13-3.

Giancarlo Stanton (.840 OPS) doesn’t look like he’ll be part of this historic series – the first MLB regular-season games ever played in Europe. Stanton is reportedly going back on the 10-day IL with a strained right knee. Fellow outfielder Cameron Maybin (.891 OPS) remains out for New York with a strained left calf, while LF Andrew Benintendi (.798 OPS) and INF Brock Holt (.800 OPS) are considered day-to-day for Boston, potentially joining first baseman Mitch Moreland (.859 OPS) on the injured list.
