It’s looking more and more like QB Cam Newton (Lisfranc) will miss the rest of the season for Carolina. He was due to be evaluated on Monday; back-up Kyle Allen (nine TDs, four INTs and six fumbles in six starts) has played replacement-level football in Newton’s absence, allowing their pass defense and rushing to keep the Panthers in the playoff hunt. The Packers have also made hay with their pass defense and their ground game, but they still have a healthy Pro Bowl quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, who has performed very well this year after some early growing pains under new head coach Matt LaFleur. The Over is 5-2 in their last seven games, and 7-0 in their last seven versus Carolina dating back to 2005.
