Winnipeg Travels to Carolina to face Hurricanes The Winnipeg Jets will look to shake things up when they land in North Carolina to take on the Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Jets are just 4-5-1 in their last 10 games, and that recent slide has caused them to fall out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. At press, the Jets trail the Arizona Coyotes by three points for the final Wild Card spot. Part of their struggles can be blamed on the poor defensive play; they’ve let in five or more goals in three of their last five games. And things won’t be any easier against the offensively-gifted Canes.

The last two losses for the Jets have been particularly tough. They suffered a 7-1 clobbering at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning last Friday and lost 5-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. Netminder Connor Hellebuyck got the start for both of those games, so it’ll be interesting to see if he gets the call this Tuesday. Carolina has been inconsistent of late as well. They just ended a three-game losing skid on Sunday with a shootout victory over the New York Islanders. The Hurricanes will attempt to make it two wins in a row and tighten their hold on a playoff spot when they face off against the Jets, starting at 7 PM ET.
